User Reviews

Users broadly praise the app for being easy to use, with a clean UI, no ads, and fast, helpful federal and state tax projections. It’s valued as a cost-effective tax planning tool that works without online accounts. Some recurring downsides are monetization prompts (donations/purchase messages) and occasional purchase-flow glitches. Overall, it’s seen as a simple, affordable, and practical tax estimator that developers actively improve (e.g., landscape view updates).
Pros
  • Easy to use with a clean, simple UI.
  • No ads and distraction-free experience.
  • Strong tax planning tool with quick, helpful federal and state estimates.
  • Excellent value: low price with a viable upgrade path.
  • No online accounts required; quick estimates without logging in.
Cons
  • In-app monetization prompts (donations and purchase messages) can be annoying or confusing.
  • Occasional purchase-flow issue (e.g., a purchase attempt returning a 'product not found' message).
  • Some UI hints/fields could be unclear (e.g., confusion around certain inputs like 'Projected Federal Tax Withholding').

Non-refundable credits such as the child tax credit are only being applied to the regular income tax BEFORE Other Taxes, such as excess APTC repayment, are added. This is incorrect for Form 1040. This results in a portion of the non-refundable credit being wasted/lost if the credit doesn’t fully offset the regular tax, resulting in taxes owed due to the Other Taxes which should have been offset by the remainder of the non-refundable credits after all taxes are added.

No ads, clean and simple layout, helpful content in-app. While paying taxes sucks, this app does not! Suggestion for a future release would be the ability to populate and save multiple estimates (or export the current estimate) for easier comparison of different tax scenarios. That said, I paid for the app and will continue to support it going forward!

There is a message that keeps popping up for donations. I gave a 3.99 donation. It’s still present.
