Features & Capabilities

GSi Electrorchestra for iPad is the portable version of the very same Virtual String Machine of the GSi Gemini.

A simulation of a classic string machine is one of the 15 synth engines of the GSi Gemini. This particular instrument is not a reproduction of a specific existing model. It's inspired by some of the most famous string keyboards of the seventies, such as the ARP Solina, the Logan String Melody and the SIEL Orchestra.

It offers 3 string registers plus one bass, features the classic attack-release envelope generator with break-point (which was mainly used to mimic the presence of a natural reverberation without using an additional reverberator), vibrato and a classic chorus/flanger effect that gives that distinguishable shimmer to the sound.

A classic 4-stage phaser effect completes the set.

Use it in your favorite AUv3 host along with other GSi effects such as GS-201 Mark II, ECHO B2, TimeVerb-X.

Huge and dirty 70’s string machine, easy to program. No presets but you can save them in your AUv3 host and they recall fine. I loved the vibrato and phaser effects but the chorus was too lo-fi for me. Baby Audio’s free Magic Switch Juno chorus did the trick. And for reverbs, a fancy modern reverb is totally out of place, but this was a perfect opportunity for Audiokit’s free Rack Reverb. I mapped the Electrochestra Volume and Brilliance controls to mod wheel in AUM and the chain is a monster! Brooding Vangelis pads but huge!

Sounds good, low cpu usage, low file size. It would be nice if it could recall presets. I know there aren’t too many parameters to remember, but it would still help. Other gsi apps have them

I can’t believe this is less than 9 MB in size. It sounds great and is perfect for my attempt at Hungry Like The Wolf.
