Features & Capabilities

RANDOM.ORG delivers certified true randomness sourced from atmospheric noise in a free, ad‑free Chrome extension. It is independently approved by multiple testing labs (sample certificates available). Tools include Coin Flipper, Dice Roller, Card Shuffler, Lotto Quick Pick, Integer Generator, and List Randomizer.

RANDOM.ORG was founded in 1998 to generate the highest quality true randomness and share it with the world. This extension makes those resources accessible for games, testing, and research, with a donation option on the official site.

User Reviews

Pros: true RNG, free/ad-free, privacy-friendly, versatile randomness tools, and a long-standing reputation. Cons: paywalls lock most features, offline use is not truly offline, performance and stability issues, and input limitations (no history, no bulk list input). Overall, the app delivers strong randomness and utility but tethers many features to purchases and has reliability and usability drawbacks.
Pros
  • True randomness source not seeded from timestamps.
  • Free to use with no ads and does not collect user data.
  • Easy to use with a variety of randomness tools (lists, dice rolls, colors, etc.).
  • Long-standing reputation and reliable free service (used for over a decade).
  • Versatile for lotteries, games, and other randomness needs.
Cons
  • Many features are locked behind in-app purchases; core options require payment.
  • Offline feature not truly offline; the app relies on online random.org data.
  • Performance and reliability issues (slow generation, occasional stalls, crashes on newer iOS).
  • Input/output limitations (cannot paste long lists, no history, and limited multi-draw options).
  • Gating or inconsistent access compared to using the website (some functions feel paywalled).

I downloaded this to be able to access the features of random.org offline. Turns out the app doesnt work offline, it just fetches data directly from random.org... so why wouldn't I just go to random.org if I have service... pretty pointless for my use case.

Besides the obvious (giving a lot of types of randomness,) they teach us a lot about randomness. You can also create your own random choices (e.g., days of the week, people on a list, colors, etc..) I haven’t found better, but I’m also not looking.

This is by far the best randomizer on the app store. It’s free, with no ads, and most importantly, doesn’t collect data. I would like to see the option for no repeats, an option to favorite a randomizer so you don’t have to spin the wheel to get to the integer generator every time ya’ open the app, and maybe the ability to add bias, but it’s still amazing. 7 stars if I could, so 5 stars.
