AT&T Enhanced PTT/ FirstNet RR

EPTT & FirstNet Rapid Response

Features & Capabilities

AT&T Enhanced PTT & FirstNet Rapid Response combines the AT&T Enhanced Push-to-Talk experience with FirstNet Ready rapid response. It works with the existing AT&T EPTT app, delivering MCPTT-ready communication without the need for downloading another app. You can communicate one-to-one or one-to-many, track and share location, establish geo-fences, and exchange highly secure messages (PDFs, pictures, and video) across America’s best network.

Two intuitive UIs are available: Basic for all users and Land Mobile Radio (LMR) for users migrating from two-way radios, mirroring traditional operations with predefined talkgroups. The solution is certified on a wide range of devices and supports emergency calls, remote enable/disable of AT&T EPTT, and roaming across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico (international roaming requires a data plan).

User Reviews

The app is valued for real-time PTT/FirstNet use but is marred by broad compatibility problems with new iPhones/iOS, poor missed-call notification management, and regressions after updates. Users report missing settings, outdated support, and reliability issues across updates, plus limited developer responsiveness. Together, these issues undermine the core real-time communication promise, creating an inconsistent experience depending on device and software version.
Pros
  • Was reliable for real-time PTT and FirstNet use on older iPhones and used daily for work.
  • Recent updates include new features that some users find valuable when the app is functioning.
  • For users on supported devices, the app provides the real-time communication capability it is marketed to offer.
Cons
  • Severe compatibility issues with newer iPhone models and iOS versions; frequent 'not compatible' or 'unsupported' messages.
  • Missed call notifications: cannot dismiss all at once, no clear count, leads to a frustrating, non-real-time experience.
  • Update-related regressions: features removed or settings missing after updates, with outdated support information.
  • Reliability issues after updates: inability to receive calls on talk group channels, servers not available.
  • Weak developer support: difficult to reach, slow responses, and inconsistent guidance.

The live activity in the Dynamic Island always shows an icon for this app. Even after force-closing the app, signing out of the app, restarting the phone. And there’s no setting to turn this off. Very frustrating. It makes the app unusable.

Loved the app used it on a daily basis till I got new phone iPhone 17 pro now I can’t use app said not compatible when is the app going to work on I phone 17

Please allow multiple missed call alerts to be dismissed all at once. When I open the app I have to sit and repeatedly tap “Not Now” for a flurry of missed calls, which is a horrible user experience. The app doesn’t tell me how many more alerts I have to dismiss. Why not put these alerts in a notification tab list that I can review at my leisure like the iPhone phone app does? Why not allow the user to dismiss all of the alerts at once? These alerts are not ignorable and basically render the app unusable until they’re all dismissed. This is ironic because the app is supposed to be about real time communication and yet when I open the app I’m forced to be reminded of communications past which are useless to me because they are in fact not real time. What’s the point of notifications (but not the contents) of old communication? Please hire and employ experts in UX and UI design who know how to devise and implement easily usable, frustration free, and intuitive GUI and design paradigms, preferably designed for an iPhone touch screen and not just copying and pasting from the handheld software.
