Features & Capabilities

DrawShot is not a game, it is a tool that lets you draw a pool shot on your iPhone or iPad. You can diagram drills to help other players learn, post that crazy table layout from your league night to Facebook, or tweet your game winning two rail bank.

== Drawing ==

  • Select a ball then move it around by dragging anywhere on the slate (so that your finger doesn't cover the ball)
  • Drag with two fingers to draw a line with a ghost ball on the end
  • Ghost balls can have their own ghost ball so you can show multiple banks and caroms
  • Drag with three fingers to position a ball inside of another ball
  • Save many different drawings within the app then view, share or edit them later
  • Undo/redo while editing

== Sharing ==

  • Post your drawings to Facebook (iOS 6.0+)
  • Tweet your drawings on Twitter (be sure to use the #DrawShot hashtag!)
  • Email a drawing as an image attachment
  • Save as an image to your camera roll to import into other apps

== Improve Your Game ==

  • Randomize the balls then analyze the table, keep repeating to learn patterns
  • Save drills and keep track of your progress in the drawing's notes field
  • Draw up any questions that you have and post to your friends to get answers

User Reviews

DrawShot is praised for its simplicity, realistic ball-path visuals, and the ability to redraw shots quickly, making it useful for practice, planning, and sharing layouts with others. The intuitive interface and daily-use appeal come through in several reviews. However, recurring drawbacks reduce its appeal: crashes affect reliability; paid users dislike on-table branding/ads and want logo customization; there are gaps like lack of a grid, scaling to a 9-foot table, and limited cue-ball/English diagram tools; and export/share options and cross-platform/browser use are requested. Overall, users want growth and stability.
Pros
  • Easy to learn and use; intuitive interface.
  • Real visuals of ball paths and the ability to recreate shots.
  • Fast to redraw complex shots once you get the hang of it.
  • Good for sharing layouts with friends and collaborating.
  • Useful tool for improving one's game.
Cons
  • Stability issues; the app crashes.
  • Intrusive on-table branding/ads in the paid version; users want logo customization.
  • Missing grid and proper table scaling (e.g., 9' table); need accurate scaling features.
  • Limited cue-ball/English diagram options; desire for more drawing tools like arrows and a larger cue ball.
  • Limited export/share options and cross-platform/browser support; users want HTML5/browser access and easier sharing of layouts.

Very simple way to track your shots and drills, just need more options just like table grid lines, cue ball English.

Use to recreate those great shots you've made over the years, or teach others players while remembering the ball placement. Real visuals of ball path. I would like to see a camera or AR integration that could recreate the table for you. I love this app, I use it daily!
