User Reviews

Planit2d is praised for being easy and quick for basic 2D floor plans and suitable for concept-level design at a low price. However, its downsides that recur across reviews include lack of undo/redo and imprecise sizing controls, missing appliances/storage for fitouts, limited cloud syncing/export capabilities, and occasional bugs. Overall, it’s a good low-cost tool for fast planning on iPad, but not a full architectural solution or robust multi-device workflow.
Pros
  • Easy to use and learn for quick 2D floor plans
  • Great for concept-level designs and fast ideation
  • Affordable price with no ongoing subscription
  • Layering helps organize the layout and edits
Cons
  • No undo/redo; editing is error-prone
  • Dragging to size is imprecise; lack of precise input for exact dimensions
  • Missing fitout options like appliances and storage items
  • Cross-device/cloud sync limitations and cloud export issues; Mac compatibility problems
  • Occasional bugs and stability problems (freezes, zoom glitches)

I had tried multiple Floor Plan apps and found many of them lacking either to simple so not useful, to difficult to navigate so hard to create a floor plan. After a few days of trying the Planit2D app I found it to be useful, simple, well done and almost perfect. Planit2d would be perfect for me, and perhaps most users interested in designing floor plans, with three (3) features added:
1) Ability to change the opacity / background opacity of the floor you’re working on so you can see and match up to the walls of the floor below; 2) Ability to add tiny labels and arrows to stairs to indicate direction while working on stairs on a specific floor; and 3) it needs a category for storage under Fitout menu. This category should contain storage pieces that are mounted to or attached to walls like kitchen cabinets, pantries, standard closets, under stair storage, and they have doors: single, double, folding, cavity, etc. So just create a sample of Storage units in Fitout menu.

I never give 5 stars, but I would give this a 4.5+ if there was such a thing. I have not mastered the use of the application by any means, but I would really like to see the “fitout” section have appliances, like refrigerator, range, water heater, furnace, etc. … a way to get better views of the sizing for spaces. Otherwise, for what it is, absolutely love this app. 👍🏼👍🏼
