Kindergarten and 1st Grade Teachers: Project Number Flash on a projector. Have all the students answer with pencil and paper at their seats.

Kids need to build automaticity to quickly recognize a number of objects in a group. This app provides a quick and fun way to practice "subitizing" and gain speed with math basics. You can target the numbers of objects you want to practice with. You can also adjust the time limits. I use this app frequently in my second grade classroom with small and large groups.
