Pros
Cons
- Intrusive ads and full-screen video ads that load on every screen, disrupting usability.
- Major UI/layout changes that feel unintuitive and cluttered, making navigation harder.
- Removal or hiding of key features (e.g., champion role selection, rank history, patch-based insights).
- Performance regressions and broken navigation (slower interactions, broken filters, inability to switch servers).
- Data gaps early in patches and, in some cases, paywalls that limit access to history.

With the latest update the app opens quicker and the interface at a high level has improved usability & cleaner appearance. That is however coupled with the removal or lack of clean implementation of key features.
1. While viewing a specific champion you can no longer select which role that champion is fulfilling. This option is available sporadically, located above the add for that screen. I’m not sure if it’s a bug that the ad has priority over that space, but the consistent lack of availability of that feature makes it essentially absent (appearing ~1/5 or 1/10 screens). Looking at Tahm Kench’s lane match up as support doesn’t yield anything but frustration while trying to prepare for a top lane matchup.
2. When a new patch comes out there is often too little data to have meaningful insights for lane matchups due to the section either being blank due to lack of games containing the matchup. In precious versions of the app you could change the patch that OP.GG was evaluating so you could generally get an idea, but that feature is no longer available making the app practically useless for that purpose in the first 3-5 days of a patch.
3. The ads have been strategically placed to load on every page by default. This means that when you’re looking at a list, you get the first two entries in the list before having to scroll past an ad to get any additional information. Aside from the fact that it’s a bit annoying, it makes the app appear disjointed, reduces usability, and gives the impression of a cash grab.
I still use OP.GG, but find the app to be significantly less consistent and less useful since the latest update.

The setup is unintuitive, all the stuff you wanted to see like OP.GG scores and match history you got to press extra buttons to get to now. There isn’t a way to view rank history anymore either I don’t think.
