User Reviews

Reviews consistently cite reliability issues with TESA SMARTair, including long outages and being unable to unlock doors. Users report a slow, buggy experience, a very dated UI, and a lack of essential features such as Apple Watch support and widgets. Connectivity problems and offline use are common, forcing reliance on a physical key fob. While some see it as a useful backup when it works, the core issues are stability, offline operability, and modern device integration.

Pros

Backup to the key fob for entry
Provides a digital backup entry option when it works
Some reviewers describe it as a decent backup option

Cons

Frequent outages and unreliability that can lock users out for days
Outdated UI/design (dated look and feel)
Missing Apple Watch support and widgets (watchOS, Home Screen widgets) along with other modern features like Face ID
Connectivity limitations: relies on Wi-Fi/cell and can fail offline or in low-signal environments
Must rely on carrying a physical key fob as a fallback due to app unreliability
