User Reviews

Users broadly praise Gospel Library for its breadth of gospel content, its ability to help users read scriptures, access talks, and grow spiritually. They value its offline access and the sense of community among LDS users. However, several recurring complaints center on a cluttered, hard-to-navigate UI; changes around music/hymns access following the Sacred Music app sunset, which can hamper playback; and occasional instability or syncing issues that have annoyed users. Overall, the app is trusted and essential, but could benefit from UI simplification, improved media playback, and greater stability.
Pros
  • Extensive gospel library with scriptures, sermons, hymns, and study materials.
  • Strong spiritual impact and helps users grow closer to God.
  • Easy, on-the-go access to scriptures and sermons, with offline capabilities.
  • Active development with bug fixes and improvements, including syncing improvements.
Cons
  • Cluttered user interface with many tiles and deep navigation makes finding content hard.
  • Music/hymns access and playback were disrupted after the Sacred Music app sunset, leading to disorganized access and audio playback issues.
  • Some syncing instability noted, requiring restarts or improvements over time.

I was able to go between Come Follow Me, General Conference talks and the scriptures with multiple tabs and now that is gone. Please give us that feature back. Thanks

Everything in one app means bloat and menu mess. Developers please eliminate the plague of menus. Articles’ info should be on the main page, not weirdly hidden in menus. To relieve bloat, begin by separating out the scriptures into their own four separate apps. And separate back out Hymns. Fix ‘Search’ so that it actually works, or don’t have it at all. We implore that all articles have a PDF option. And we plead: stop the practice of using phone volunteers who merely sooth, pacify, placate, and give faux fixes. It insults, frustrates us. Be guided by the Steve Jobs slogan, “Begin with the user in mind.” Developers, think about what that means. I finally deleted this app; developers do not listen to feedback, suggestions, comments, hopes, petitions, concerns that burns.

Very difficult to listen to scriptures. The audio play feature feature used to be easy to use. But now I can find it most of the time. And if I do find it, it does not work like it used to. Very disappointing.
