User Reviews

The Kickstarter app offers convenient discovery and on-the-go backing with an inspiring creator community, but it is marred by serious backer risks: scams, delayed or undelivered rewards, weak protections, frequent app login/technical issues, and limited support/refund handling. These conflicting experiences undermine trust despite the appeal of accessing unique projects.

Pros

Easy to use and enables backing on the go.
Allows discovery of unique, creative projects not easily found elsewhere.
Inspiring community feel with creator journeys and opportunities to find your tribe.

Cons

Projects frequently fail to deliver and communicate delays; backers can wait years.
Prevalence of scams and weak vetting; backers feel insufficient protection.
App reliability issues (login problems, loading crashes, VPN-related errors).
Inadequate support and refunds; disputes go unresolved and refunds are not guaranteed.

Recent reviews

maybe I just missed it, but it be nice if there was a way to show what has not been delivered yet. I’m back a lot of projects and they all just get mixed in with the ones they already received.
