User Reviews

Pianist magazine app is praised for its rich, instructional piano content, scores, and multimedia features that work well for players of all levels. However, it is plagued by persistent technical problems—slow and unreliable downloads, loading failures, and inconsistent updates—accompanied by limited customer support. While content quality remains high and valuable for teachers and students, reliability issues prevent a consistently smooth user experience.
Pros
  • Rich, diverse content for pianists of all levels, including articles, practice tips, and interviews.
  • Extensive sheet music library with scores across difficulty levels, great for sight-reading practice.
  • Educational value for teachers and students, with practical guidance and pedagogy.
  • Multimedia enhancements (audio, video lessons, and links) that accompany scores and articles.
  • Convenient digital format on iPad with access to back issues and the appeal of an all-in-one magazine.
Cons
  • Frequent download and loading problems: pages load cut off, unreadable, black, or fail to download.
  • Very slow download speeds and long wait times per issue.
  • Update/migration issues: after updates, previous versions aren’t recognized and issues must be re-downloaded, with little guidance.
  • Support is hard to find or unresponsive when issues arise.
Recent reviews
I was so looking forward to this publication — only to find that the app isn’t ready for prime time (in the U.S. anyway). Only two (out of approximately two dozen) attempts at reading from an issue have succeeded, because the pages won’t load properly: they’re variously . . . cut off in the middle, stretched out and unreadable, unscrollable, or simply blacked out. And there’s no help/support easily available even at the magazine’s website (nary a support mention). So I’ve asked for a full refund from Apple. Quite frustrating.
