Landrule is praised for its fun, fast Risk-like strategy and cross-platform play with a wide map lineup. Recurrent negatives across reviews are unreliable iOS notifications, unbalanced or unchallenging AI on larger maps, persistent lag/performance issues, and ongoing store/purchase problems (restoration and access to paid maps). UI/UX changes on iOS also frustrate users. Addressing notifications, AI balance, performance, and account restoration would improve the experience while preserving the game’s core appeal.

Recent reviews

The old app still looked like it was designed around iPhones from 2010, sure, but at least it didn’t have half of the screen be fully grey most of the time. The algorithm that’s trying to always perfectly center the screen on the current fight is far too dumb and needs to better account for vertical screen space. Zooming in/out is not a useful feature and isn’t worth this dramatically worse experience.

There was an update that changed the scrolling of the maps. Something is off with the code…? Notifications are also funky. Sometimes it says I have a turn up,but then I pull up my games, and I don’t have a turn. Other times it doesn’t let me know when I have a turn and then I pull it up and I have turn in all five games (sometimes I lose my turn bc I didn’t know it’s my turn..)
