User Reviews

User feedback on New Relic for iOS is mixed. Many praise its simplicity, speed, and the ability to quickly view key metrics on mobile, especially the iPhone experience. However, a large share of reviews report serious reliability problems: repeated login/SSO issues and login loops, crashes, and unresponsive dashboards. Several users also note missing mobile capabilities, such as access to saved log views and parity with the web (APM/services), making it hard to investigate issues on the go. Overall sentiment is positive in theory but strongly clouded by instability and feature gaps.
Pros
  • Simple, fast, and easy to learn; good onboarding; quick access to insights.
  • Useful on iPhone; mobile experience is adequate and handy for on-the-go monitoring.
  • Provides a quick glance at metrics; concise overview of app health.
Cons
  • Frequent login/SSO/SAML issues blocking access and causing login loops.
  • Stability and reliability problems: frequent crashes, unresponsive dashboards, and broken charts.
  • Limited mobile feature parity with web: cannot access saved log views or apply certain filters, and some services/APM features are missing on mobile.
Recent reviews
To keep it short, I really struggle with the app where I don’t struggle with the web app. Querying is broken, log viewing is nonsensical, deep linking or URL shortening coming from New Relic’s own URL’s does work (really annoying when a teammate links something on Teams or Slack and you can’t see what they do)… this app is just an unfortunate mess all around. Good for minor checking of basics but beyond that you need to check on web.

Not having access to the saved log views on the mobile app makes it way too difficult to quickly search the logs when an issue comes up. If I try to go online on my phone to new relic, it redirects back to the app which is super annoying since now I have to delete the app, go online, look at the logs using my saved views and determine whether an issue needs critical attention. Please allow for accessing saved log views, trying to add filters on the mobile app every time I need to view specific logs is too slow.
