ERG 2020

ERG 2020 Chrome extension provides fast access to PHMSA's 2020 Emergency Response Guidebook for first responders. It includes an indexed list of dangerous goods with IDs, hazards, and recommended safety precautions to guide actions during the critical first 30 minutes of hazmat incidents. Fire, police, and EMS teams can identify materials from placards and obtain immediate, authoritative response guidance.

The 2020 ERG updates feature revised general information pages, reorganized content, updated protective distance mapping, and the ability to share data links via URLs. The ERG remains freely available to public safety agencies nationwide through state coordinators, with PHMSA collaborating with the National Library of Medicine to offer this extension and a WISER version of the ERG.
