User Reviews

Chaos Control excels as a GTD-oriented planner with a powerful chaos box and strong cross-device sync, plus a clean UI and responsive support. However, reviewers frequently report crashes, persistent sync issues, data loss after updates, and concerns about the shift to a subscription model. Feature gaps like notes/attachments and some GTD semantics, along with occasional login problems, temper its otherwise strong value.
Pros
  • GTD-friendly workflow with chaos box, context tagging, and flexible project/folder structure that helps users actually implement GTD.
  • Chaos Box serves as a central capture area for ideas and tasks, with easy transfer into projects and tagged contexts.
  • Cross-device synchronization and a web interface, enabling access to tasks on iPad, Mac, iPhone, and more.
  • Clean, intuitive UI and easy setup that many users find approachable, including those with ADHD.
  • Responsive support and strong ongoing value, with users praising fast help and long-term reliability.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and bugs, including data loss after updates and random app crashes.
  • Ongoing sync issues across devices and with desktop/web versions, leading to missing or out-of-sync tasks.
  • Shift to a subscription pricing model, frustrating users who previously purchased the app outright.
  • Missing GTD-specific features and attachments: no next actions/flow semantics, no notes, no file attachments.
  • Account/login reliability concerns and support contact friction (unexpected logouts, accounts not linked, outdated contact methods).

Chaos Control has become my central organizing app. I read Getting Things Done several times and had some difficulty implementing it. Using this app, the methods finally clicked. I use the “chaos box” for general in then sort by context and projects. This app has even helped me with paper applications of the GTD method. Well done. Clean. Easy to Use. Easy 5 star without a second thought

Apparently they fixed the bug, and hope it's fixed for good - because this is the best app for GTD - when it doesn't crash
