User Reviews

AquaticLog is highly praised for its ease of use, rich graphs, diary features, and cloud sync across devices, with strong developer support. The main drawback is monetization: recent changes impose monthly limits and require a Pro subscription to log many measurements or more parameters, leading some users to seek alternatives. Overall, it remains a powerful, customizable tool for tracking multiple tanks, but the price model is a frequent point of contention.
Pros
  • Easy to use and intuitive; suitable for beginners and experienced aquarists.
  • Comprehensive tracking with graphs, parameter history, diary/notes, and heavy customization per tank.
  • Cloud sync across iOS and website; data backup helps prevent loss; works across devices.
  • Responsive developer support and ongoing updates; fast issue resolution.
  • Strong multi-tank support and long-term data tracking; useful for professional use and sharing data.
Cons
  • Pricing model and subscription required to log more than a few measurements per month.
  • Monthly limits on parameter entries (as low as 5, 9 updates) and limitations on how many parameters can be logged unless upgrading.
  • Per-tank pricing/monetization concerns; perceived 'greed' in pushing users to Pro.
  • Recent updates markedly reduce free functionality, prompting users to look for alternatives.

I’ve tried quite a few reefing apps over the years and AquaticLog is hands down my favorite. It’s one of the few apps that I actually use every day. Everything is laid out well and it’s easy to log parameters, maintenance, livestock, dosing, and equipment without digging through a bunch of menus. What really sets it apart is how often it’s updated. The developer is constantly adding new features and actually listens to feedback from the reefing community. It never feels like an abandoned app. The controller integrations are awesome and make it easy to keep everything in one place. Being able to import and track ICP results is another huge plus. Having all of that information together makes it much easier to spot trends and keep your tank on track. If you’re serious about reefing, I honestly can’t recommend AquaticLog enough. It’s become one of the most valuable tools I use to manage my tank.

Limiting you to 10 measurements per month is ridiculous.
