User Reviews

User reviews largely report reliability and feature gaps in Epic Rover on iOS. Recurrent problems include login/authentication failures, the app not opening, and unreliable notifications—often tied to device state or Apple Watch integration. Scanning/camera features (barcode/QR, meds, labs) are not functioning on newer devices. The app also lacks several requested capabilities (scheduling group paging, Face ID unlock, photo attachments in charts, non-PT transport requests). Overall, stability and feature gaps dominate feedback.
Pros
Cons
  • Frequent login/authentication issues preventing access (no available jobs, environment config errors, accounts being signed in by others).
  • App instability and launch failures (unable to open or use the app, reports that the app isn't working).
  • Notifications/alerts unreliable: missed or delayed critical alerts, especially when the phone is locked or paired with Apple Watch (sound/paging issues).
  • Scanning functionality broken or missing (camera/QR/barcode scanning and scanning meds/labs on newer devices).
  • Missing/unfinished features and configuration gaps (scheduling opt-in/out for groups, Face ID unlock, attaching photos to charts, non-PT transport requests).

This app is not very useful. Convoluted UI design and unintuitive navigation delivers a product far below expectations. This app should allow providers mobility, to untether, however its performance is an empty promise.

Don’t like how other people can sign you in and you don’t know that you have a room sitting on you for 30 mins it shouldn’t let other people sign you in at all

I work in IR and when on call I need to be able to have the critical message alerts audibly play on my iPhone speaker. However, it appears when my Apple Watch is paired with my iPhone, I do not get the Critical Alert sound at all despite turning off “mirror iPhone” for Rover on Apple Watch. Only when my Apple Watch is not paired/off my wrist does it come through w. the critical tone audio. This DEFINITELY needs to be able to work simultaneously especially since the audio allows me to wake up to the page vs relying on the haptic/ping audio only on my watch (just not strong/loud enough when asleep overnight). Secondarily and unrelated to above — I would love it if we could opt into/out of messaging groups on a schedule. For example “opt into on call group paging at 1830 and opt out at 0700 next day” using the availability feature.
