User Reviews

Long Division Touch is lauded for its visual, interactive approach that clarifies the long division algorithm and helps a broad audience—from homeschoolers to college students—brush up skills and reduce calculator dependence. The main drawbacks are the lack of a feature to enter custom problems and some skepticism that the app alone can replace traditional paper-based practice. It’s an effective teaching tool for many, but not universally suitable as a complete replacement for paper work.
Pros
  • Visual and interactive breakdown of long division concepts helps learners understand the steps rather than rely on memorization
  • Useful for a wide range of users (homeschoolers, adults refreshing skills, test prep), providing a flexible learning tool
  • Clear, step-by-step representation of the long division algorithm with visible connections between steps
  • Reduces reliance on calculators by showing the process and goals of each step
  • Generally reliable and tool-friendly, with positive feedback on teaching effectiveness
Cons
  • Inability to input own problems or customize problems, a feature repeatedly requested by users
  • Skepticism about teaching effectiveness, with some reviewers suggesting it isn’t a substitute for paper-based learning

GREAT APP TO BREAK DOWN THE CONCEPTS OF LONG DIVISION BOTH VISUALLY AND IN AN INTERACTIVE MANNER WITHOUT FOCUSING ON THE MEMORIZATION OF MATH FACTS

I like the tutorial and how the learner can see the relationship of addition and subtraction to division. It’s a tiny bit finicky with how you pull the numbers down and into place, but it gets easier to navigate with practice. Great homeschool learning tool. Thank you!
