Xavion is a flight navigation extension that continually imagines engine-failure scenarios and maps the safest possible glide routes to airports within gliding range. It uses energy-management principles to guide a Highway-In-The-Sky path and offers 3-D instrument approaches for US airports to help you fly safely after an engine failure.

The extension also provides ADS-B weather and traffic, wake-turbulence visualization, weight-and-balance checks, and fuel estimates at different altitudes. Base USA VFR and IFR charts are included with the base subscription, and METARs and winds aloft are available when online to aid preflight planning. Note that GPS running in the background can significantly affect battery life.

Recent reviews

I paid $100 to purchase this app only to have it switch to a subscription model just a few months into using. No refund. No apologies. Greedy is an understatement to describe the developer Austin Meyer. I just saw someone use this app again and it is laughingly useless and obsolete now. For a subscription based model better stick with a larger company with established values and full features such as ForeFlight or Garmin Pilot.
