User Reviews

AudioStretch is repeatedly praised for its powerful pitch/tempo control and intuitive UI, making it a go-to tool for editing audio and video clips. Users also value the one‑time purchase price and its usefulness for producers. However, recurring issues include stability problems (crashes/freezes), video import/load failures, and limits on video length. Feature gaps cited by many users include dark mode, landscape orientation, an undo function, and clip saving/organization. Reported audio artifacts during timestretch and occasional scrub/lock-screen limitations also appear. Overall, strong editing control and value, with reliability and feature gaps as major drawbacks.
Pros
  • Powerful and precise pitch and tempo control (timestretch) for editing and transcription.
  • Straightforward, user-friendly UI that makes editing quick.
  • Great tool for music producers and editing workflows.
  • One-time purchase offers good value (not a subscription).
  • Fun and engaging to use for quick edits and entertaining clips.
Cons
  • Stability issues, including freezes/crashes and cases where adding video causes audio dropouts or requires re-downloads.
  • Video import/load problems and length limits (difficulty loading long videos, hours-long limits, and concerns over trial/purchase constraints).
  • Missing core workflow features frequently requested (undo, clip saving/organization) and common UI options (dark mode, landscape orientation) that users want.
  • Audio artifacts or distortion when timestretching/pitch-shifting.
  • Pricing/trial model concerns: users complain about trial limits, platform differences, and expectations of unlimited use.

I’ve had this app for I think 5 years now and I bought it I think 4 years ago. Easily the best app I’ve ever paid for, I really enjoy the ability to pitch songs up and down, slow them down, and reverse them. I could not recommend this app enough. However, it has a number of bugs that really need to be addressed. First, when loading some songs, it will load 10 seconds of silence with the A & B function and no audio will appear or play. This happens a lot more often with longer songs, to the point where a 30 minute audio I have needs to be loaded in 10+ times before actually loading successfully. Second, if the player is interrupted by other audio, like a video playing on your phone etc., sometimes the app has to be reset entirely before working again. Both of these are prevalent enough that I have to deal with them multiple times daily. Aside from these bugs I really do love the app and would love to see Spotify integration if possible in the future!
