Features & Capabilities

SayIt Colors helps children from ages 1+ to learn colors by teaching them to actually recognize and speak the colors.

Before children learn to read and write, they learn to speak. Children have a remarkable skill of learning and recognizing things by associating sounds with symbols.

SayIt Colors provides an interactive game that verbally engages children to recognize a color and say it. A color is presented on the screen and asked to say the color. When the child gets the answer right, he/she is rewarded with a friendly animation and a fun sound effect!

  • SayIt Colors uses speech recognition to understand what your child is saying.

  • SayIt Colors does NOT require an internet connection.

  • Works on iPhone, iPad, and iPod (with external mic) and supports retina display.

  • No Ads!

  • Will continue to improve the speech recognition engine as more kids begin to use the app.

User Reviews

Sorry Say it Colors, the child's voice on this app has a distorted /r/. Yes, an /r/ is not fully developed until the age of 8 years old. My 3 year old started to omit the /r/ when she was imitating this child's speech production.

This is a very simple app. I like the fact that it responds to verbal cues. The voice is that of a child, which is cute, but the child is not able to pronounce /r/ and /th/ sounds - not good for modeling correct speech. Also, this skill would be better practiced with real crayons and a real human. I love my iPad and the apps, but parents need to remember the human component of learning. Children still need praise from a parent rather than a computer.
