Recent reviews

First, I tried to access the Sept issue using my laptop……using www.trains.com/trn/mylibrary , it did not work as it wanted me to subscribe where as I am already a subscriber…..Then I tried www.trains.com/trn/iOSapp, and got to a page that I had to download the app from Apple, and then had to sign in…..I tried using my account number as my ID and it was rejected, then I tried my email and got to the app in Apple….when I opened the app, it took me to the library but then I could only tap on contents and the article on BigBoy came up,….I couldn’t do anything after that. I do not want to get my magazine via an online app and will cancel my subscription if that becomes the norm. And I will to get the app to read on my cell phone even it it really works, too damn small to read anything. One can’t “thumb through” the magazine like I can with a paper copy……I acknowledge going digital may save you $$$$ but it will also cause you to lose subscribers……I can’t just p[ick up the magazine and open it to where I last left off with the digital version……The digital version you currently have is totally unacceptable….Norman Baullinger

Swiping through articles is easy, but it’s frustrating not to be able to zoom in to the photos. Often there are details that just need to be seen in greater detail. This is one area where the app could outperform print, if only the feature was enabled like it is on most news apps. I see some negative reviews from five or six years ago, but as of 2026, it seems that most of those complaints have been addressed. If only the photos could be presented in a more usable format, the app would be so much better.
