Features & Capabilities

Due to changes in iOS specifications, distribution was temporarily suspended. The app has been updated and is now available again. Thank you for your support.

G-Chord is a chord book for guitar. This app displays guitar chords, or how to hold down the strings.

In-App Purchase(unlock all): ■ Disables ads ■ Browse all chords available ■ Store 40 memos per page, up to a total of 30 pages ■ Add titles to each memo page ■ Send the chord name displayed at the top of a memo by e-mail ■ Provisional feature -- gain access to an import function (attach chord name from e-mail, etc.)

Note: This app does not show every way of holding the strings. It shows the most simple 3-6 approaches for each chord. Note that you cannot search for other chord variations within the app.

Tuning is fixed as below: 1 - E 2 - B 3 - G 4 - D 5 - A 6 - E

User Reviews

G-Chord is praised for its clean presentation and usefulness as a learning tool, especially when upgrading to the full version. Users value the ability to hear chord types, map fingerings, and see multiple chord names and positions. However, criticisms center on a pay-to-unlock model that leaves the free version limited, concerns about price/unclear full unlock costs, and inconsistent chord recognition/coverage (some chords and keys aren't recognized). Overall, strong educational potential with notable caveats around paid features and chord coverage.
Pros
  • Great presentation and user interface.
  • Good value when upgrading to the full version with extra features.
  • Useful learning tool: hear different chord types, map fingerings to chord names, and see possible chord names and positions.
Cons
  • Free version is largely limited; pay-to-unlock model with chords locked behind a price.
  • Chord recognition and key coverage are inconsistent; some common chords and keys are not recognized.
  • Pricing uncertainty and unclear full unlock costs raise concerns about the app's value.
