Features & Capabilities

Visual Attention Therapy Lite is a free taste of the full Visual Attention Therapy app. It helps brain injury and stroke survivors, as well as students with attention challenges, practice scanning and visuospatial attention. Clinicians can use it to assess neglect and guide therapy. This lite version includes Test and Practice modes with a single level and layout, supports 1–2 targets, provides the same color and style options, and can email reports. It contains no ads and does not collect personal data.

Practicing scanning left-to-right across a page helps retrain eye movements and improves reading, concentration, memory, and processing speed. Two targets can support working memory and alternating attention. The app offers adjustable layouts and 10 levels of difficulty, enabling use by individuals or multiple users. Automated scoring provides data on accuracy, time, and mistakes in professional reports emailed to clinicians. Visual Attention Therapy is used worldwide by SLPs, OTs, vision specialists, and neuropsychologists for adults and children with dyslexia and attentional deficits.

User Reviews

Reviews praise ease of use and the app’s value for improving focus and visual scanning across ages, with strong notes on customization and therapy utility. The lite version effectively demonstrates capabilities and enables trying before buying, but its limitations in exposing full features and occasional flow/navigation frustrations are recurring drawbacks. Overall, the app is seen as a valuable, adaptable tool for visual attention rehabilitation, with most users open to purchasing the full version.
Pros
  • Easy to use and intuitive interface.
  • Effective for improving focus, attention, and visual scanning (including hemispheric neglect).
  • Highly customizable with multiple targets, levels, and signals.
  • Useful across ages, including children and older adults, with therapy applications.
  • Lite version serves as a clear demonstration and supports trying before buying; full version offers more features and is worth purchasing.
Cons
  • Lite version is limited and does not expose full capabilities, making it hard to evaluate the paid version.
  • Navigation between tests/flow from one task to the next is not as seamless as it could be.
Recent reviews
Enjoyed Lite version despite not being able to go past finding the two letters.Didn’t care having to back home to do an exercise. The app should be one in which the user can go to the next test. 5-stars for the test, 2-stars for not having a flow from test to the next, going back o home.
