User Reviews

Users praise Moodtrack for anonymity, easy mood tracking with graphs, and a supportive, judgment-free community that can aid therapy and self-reflection. However, recurring reliability issues—login/connection failures, posts and comments failing to load, and occasional outages—are frequently cited. Long-standing maintenance problems (outdated app, lack of updates, and weak support channels) compound frustrations, including data loss after username changes and difficulty exporting data. Overall, the app is valued for its concept, but reliability and support gaps hinder long-term use.
Pros
  • Anonymity and a safe space to vent without judgment.
  • Simple mood tracking with charts/graphs to see patterns over time.
  • Supportive community that encourages and empathizes, often used for therapy or self-improvement.
  • Private journaling options with optional public sharing to protect privacy.
  • Valuable for self-reflection and discussing mood trends with therapists.
Cons
  • Frequent login/connection failures and outages that prevent posting or commenting.
  • Account/username issues leading to lost followers, lost mood counts, and data drift after changes.
  • Little to no app updates or maintenance for years, making it feel abandoned and hard to get help.
  • No easy way to export or share journal entries with therapists; limited data portability.
  • Poor or hard-to-find support options; inconsistent troubleshooting and sometimes reliance on Twitter or multiple app versions.

I have a love/hate relationship with this app. When it works, its great. Document your mood, like or converse with other’s moods, follow and be followed. But these features rarely ever work, and feels abandoned by the developer. There is also no way to export.

I was looking for a mood tracker and saw this app was recommended and had good ratings. After I downloaded it and entered all of my personal data, I wasn’t able to set up a username. It kept displaying an error that there was no internet connection. After trying repeatedly and checking my WiFi, I gave up. I downloaded a different app and it works great. No problems creating an account. Not recommended.

I can’t get past the user name to even use the app. Any username I put in is taken. So I clicked suggested username, and those are also taken.
