User Reviews

Users broadly praise Arise as a powerful all‑in‑one calorie tracker with water, workouts, and motivational features, plus a usable free tier. However, many cite a weak, regionally inconsistent food database and unreliable barcode scanning, frequent upsells, onboarding friction, and occasional data/history issues as recurring drawbacks.

Pros

  • Comprehensive calorie tracking with built‑in water intake, workouts, and steps.
  • Motivational features such as badges and achievements that help you stay on track.
  • All‑in‑one fitness app: tracking gym activity, water, and food in one place with an easy‑to‑use interface.
  • Free version is usable without paying, with paid upgrades offering extra features.
  • Good food search and broad availability of foods to track.

Cons

  • Food database is incomplete and regionally inconsistent; common items may be missing and the barcode scanner often fails to recognize items.
  • Pricing and upsell concerns: upgrades are pricey, there is no free trial, and refunds/issues with billing.
  • Onboarding and usability can feel intrusive or confusing, with lifestyle‑planning prompts and settings that are hard to find.
  • History and data reliability problems: difficulty viewing past days’ calories and occasional data loss or failed saves.

Following this app with the food that I eat in the calorie counters that also include protein and fat for a healthy body. I am 69 years old. In January, I weighed 160 pounds. I was not very happy. I was disgusted with myself when I looked in the mirror. I knew I had to change. So following the app and seeing the goals and being able to watch my weight daily I am now down 30 pounds. I am elated beyond measure! The diligence paid off. I did wanna quit several times. At home at home I had peer pressure for eating snacks over indulgence party party. I said no. The daily reminders from the app was a good source to keep me going. Thank you so much!
