User Reviews

AudioShare is widely regarded as an indispensable, versatile file-management and audio-editing tool on iOS, with strong interoperability with other apps. However, recurring drawbacks include unreliable SoundCloud integration, limited built-in playback features, and missing AUv3/IAA support.
Pros
  • Indispensable and essential tool for music-making on iOS, widely praised as a must-have for recording, organizing, and editing ideas.
  • Versatile, all-in-one audio tool with robust file management, import/export, trimming, fading, converting, and even a two-track recorder.
  • Excellent interoperability and workflow with other apps and devices (AirDrop, open in AUM, sharing across apps).
Cons
  • SoundCloud integration button often fails or is difficult to use due to API changes; users report poor support and responsiveness.
  • Not a dedicated editor or full-featured music player; playback/playlist features are limited.
  • Missing AUv3 (Audio Units) and inter-app audio support; users want plugin integration.

After you record a file, you’re probably going to want to trim it. Well, this app gives you no other option but to duplicate the recording and then trim. So, now for each recording you’re taking up twice the space. So, you delete it. Except there’s no option to immediately permanently delete it. You have to navigate to the trash folder and delete that. And then it asks you whether you’re sure if you want to delete it. You cannot disable this message. Doing all of that for every single recording is beyond annoying. I won’t be using this app as a result.

I bought Audioshare two years ago when I moved from violin to electronic production. As an avid and active power user, primarily using my iPad and iPhone to make music, I spend a lot of time in this software. For two years, the SoundCloud upload button when viewing a track has been disabled. I emailed support to ask why this was, and they said that SoundCloud updated their API and actually improved their app. It's now much more effective to upload tracks directly through SoundCloud. The four-button grid on AudioShare includes Mail it, Share it, Copy it via audio copy 3, and the general pasteboard, plus this useless SoundCloud button. I asked what they planned to do with it, but received no response. I followed up in the email thread suggesting they make that a “rename file” button. One of the most common things I have to deal with when looking at files is renaming and organizing them. To rename a file, I have to exit the track, go back to the file list, long hold the file, and then click rename. What's the point? Such a simple functionality could be improved. To see this one of four buttons in the main interface being dead every day was annoying because I’m also a software engineer. This is careless, for your customers and the quality of your product. At any rate, the lack of responsiveness from this team and lack of support for avid users is disappointing. Even though all the big music apps integrate with AudioShare, and it feels like vendor lock-in… In the age of AI-assisted development, I’m sure somebody will build a more modern and even easier version of AudioShare soon.
