User Reviews

Reviews show a split: when it works, HiQnet Motion Control is a powerful, real-time hub for Harman/BSS gear (audio, lighting, IR) on iPhone/iPad over a local network, useful in large facilities. But many users report reliability problems: crashes, inconsistent device discovery, and loss of network settings after reconnecting; a limited feature set and non-intuitive UI; compatibility issues with newer iOS versions; and perceived poor value for money. Some workarounds (Lock App Settings, Run Venue) help, but many still consider the app unfinished.
Pros
  • Powerful, feature-rich control for Harman/BSS devices (audio, lighting, IR) once configured via Audio Architect.
  • Very responsive in real-world use with no noticeable delay on-site.
  • Works on iPhone and iPad once the device is discovered on the local network.
  • Useful for large facilities and multi-device setups when it works.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and overall instability.
  • Inconsistent network discovery and remote connectivity; loss of settings after reconnecting.
  • Limited controls and non-intuitive UI; many DSP features unavailable.
  • Compatibility problems with newer iOS versions and screen sizes; not optimized for current devices.
  • Perceived poor value for money given the bugs and limitations.

Can’t use it remotely if you are out of your local network.

It works… eventually. I want to throw all my equipment off the roof every time I have to update a control panel though, as it seems to only update when it wants to.

I am an integrator who regularly installs amp and speaker systems in people’s houses. This app does NOT work. It’s not even aspect ratio’d for current iPhone screens. Shame on Harmon for charging so much money for a terrible app. I just thought maybe it would give me some simple control during the install process. Nope. Couldn’t get it to connect to the amp. Crashed like 50 times. Just simply won’t work.
