User Reviews

Attikos is praised as a reader-friendly Greek toolkit with a clean UI, a strong text library, and seamless dictionary integration (LSJ, Middle Liddell, Autenrieth; Logeion). Reviewers laud on-screen word parsing and font sizing for readability. Common drawbacks include orientation crashes, no iPhone support, a need for more texts, and the absence of an English translation option. Overall, it’s highly valued for reading Ancient Greek at a great value, with clear opportunities to expand content and cross-device availability.
Pros
  • A rich library of Greek texts (Perseus) with seamless Logeion integration for easy reading.
  • Strong dictionary and lexicon access: tap a word to see morphology and link to LSJ, Middle Liddell, and Autenrieth.
  • Clean, uncluttered, elegant UI that makes reading Greek enjoyable.
  • Good value and free availability, providing great value for price.
  • Font sizing and readability options improve comfort for long reading sessions.
Cons
  • Orientation-related crashes when switching screen orientation.
  • Lack of iPhone support (not available on iPhone yet).
  • Desire for more texts and library expansion (e.g., Homeric Hymns, Lyric Poets, etc.).
  • Absence of an English translation option.
