User Reviews

Users generally value Tinybeans as a private, family-focused way to share and archive memories, with date-based organization, monthly collages, and easy sharing to relatives via email. However, many reviews emphasize recurring problems: steep price increases and paywalls that restrict access to older memories; frequent bugs and upload glitches, especially on iPad; intrusive ads and a store-driven redesign; difficult cancellation and inconsistent billing/support; clumsy sharing/invite flow that relies on email and can exclude some users. The app remains appealing in concept, but reliability, pricing, and UX issues undermine long-term satisfaction.
Pros
  • Private family sharing away from public social media.
  • Date-based organization with easy memory search and an archive; features like month-in-review collage and photo books.
  • Helpful for sharing with extended family via regular email updates with photos (grandparents love it).
  • Long-running, trusted concept with years of use across families.
  • Keeps memories organized and accessible over time.
Cons
  • Price hikes and paywalls that lock access to older memories; premium pricing feels unfair.
  • App is frequently buggy and unstable, with slow uploads and glitches, especially on iPad.
  • Ads and store focus intrude on the photo-sharing experience.
  • Cancellation and billing are hard, with poor UI to cancel and limited support.
  • Sharing/invite workflow is clumsy (email-based invites only, linking issues, difficulties for recipients).

Update as of 2026 They have made some major updates and things are so much better. I am so glad I stuck it out, because this really is the best app. Now that I don’t have uploading issues, I have no complaints. Since they worked on the changes, they even reached out to me checking in because I had sent so many emails about the struggles to support. I appreciated that. It’s much easier to upload photos. There’s now a status bar that shows how many have been uploaded. There are better features like making a photo just private to you and your other account owner. There are some newer features I haven’t tried out yet, but will be cool. These updates also make me feel better about the cost. Now I can confidently say, if you want a safe place to share photos with family and close friends, look no further- this is it! I’m so sad because honestly, this should be the best photo sharing app out there but there are just too many problems with it. I swear every 6 months I have a huge issue that I have to email support about. They say we’re working on it, which they are and they do eventually fix most of it, but it’s so frustrating. There shouldn’t be issues uploading, that’s what this whole app is for. I spend a lot of time writing captions and uploading photos and too often it just stops and everything I did for that day is lost. We are tired parents, we don’t need to add difficult things to our lives. Not even to mention the outrageous cost. If I wasn’t already so invested I would run far, far away from this app. I can’t say I will continue to pay the fee, it’s way too expensive and then on top of that to have problems so often is just not worth it. I’m sad to say it, but keep looking. This is not the app you want.

They want $75 a year when it used to be free. I HATE them with a passion. Everything that used to be great SUCKS now and this is one of those things. I would never pay for this because the app doesn’t work half the time anyway. It crashes when you’re loading a bunch of photos at once and it’s a huge waste of time.
