Timestamped Field Notes lets you capture observations without looking at your device or typing. It time-stamps each entry and provides quick-tap buttons to log common events or keywords, dramatically reducing typing. Notes are stored with timestamps and can be exported in chronological order to cloud storage as CSV, JSON, or plain text, with minute or second precision.

Originally built for monitoring Peregrine Falcons, the app is adaptable to many timestamped-note tasks: behavioral event recording, personal journals, marking moments in interviews or post-production, and interview notes. It supports multiple keyword sets to speed data capture and retrieval.

Although it seems to work OK… Some of the more detailed features like making ‘keywords’ bold or light do not work Plus you cannot copy and paste into keywords or the app crashes You also can not edit the ‘event keyword’ or else the app crashes As long as you don’t care about your those options then it works fairly OK most of the time. The application is only worth maybe two dollars. Nothing more. Definitely not worth $9.99

I thought all the notes would just be displayed so I could easily review them.

When making entries on watch, all entries are combined into a single entry unless the app is open and running on connected iphone. Therefore, watch app is essentially useless. Which was the whole reason I purchased the app. If I'm paying $10, the basic functions should work. Too bad; it's an otherwise decent app. I would reach out to the developer, but there hasn't been an update on this in about 5 years, so 🤷‍♂️
