User Reviews

The Art of Screaming is praised for strong, practical vocal warmups and coach-like guidance that users can access on the go, with many reporting improvements in range and belting. However, consistent concerns include price and subscription model, app reliability and navigation problems, occasional iOS compatibility issues, and perceptions of limited drills or full-range coverage. Overall, it’s seen as a valuable, coach-on-a-phone tool when it runs smoothly, delivering meaningful results for singers and scream/distortion vocalists.
Pros
  • High-quality warmups and vocal exercises that improve singing, belting, and overall vocal strength
  • Coaching-like guidance from experienced vocal coaches; feels like having a vocal coach on your phone
  • Great for on-the-go practice and portable warmups anytime, anywhere
  • Users report real, noticeable improvements in range and belting after using the app
  • Perceived good value for a one-time purchase (vs ongoing subscription) for some users
Cons
  • Price concerns and subscription vs one-time payment; perceived expensive by some users
  • App reliability issues: crashes, some lessons won’t open, and clunky navigation
  • Compatibility/updates with newer iOS versions can cause functionality problems until updated
  • Perceived limited breadth of drills or full octave range within the content

I WOULD rate this app higher except that the very first exercise is made for folks who can stand and perform a “fencing” type exercise. Now that I’m permanently physically disabled with several limitations, trying to do those was a HUGE problem for me. Some days I can’t stand up much less bend as though fencing! I do some of my vocal exercises sitting upright, and others leaning against a wall. Apparently, you MUST be physically healthy to sing? I’m Juilliard trained and do many of those lessons from my previous coaches, and still sing well. I was hoping to add this to my vocal strengthening library. Disappointed.
