User Reviews

Reviewers praise Gymglish for engaging, humorous lessons that make language learning enjoyable and sustain daily practice. Users report real progress across English and other languages, with long-term use leading to noticeable gains (A1 to B2/C1) and helpful features like immediate corrections, grammar reinforcement, idioms, and an AI speaking feature. However, recurring concerns center on subscription issues, including forced, hard-to-cancel multi-year plans and alleged aggressive collection tactics, along with perceived high price. Several testers note the app is best as a supplement to a tutor or class, not a standalone solution, and occasional bugs can block progress.
Pros
  • Engaging, humorous lessons that make language learning enjoyable and help daily study.
  • Real progress with consistent practice, with users reporting moving from beginner to higher levels across multiple languages.
  • Strong grammar reinforcement, frequent review of points, plus idioms and useful language tips.
  • Immediate corrections and clear feedback to identify weaknesses.
  • AI speaking feature, and the option to use a tutor or class to boost speaking practice.
Cons
  • Difficult to cancel or forced long-term subscriptions; reports of blocked cancellations and aggressive collection tactics.
  • Perceived high price / expensive relative to alternatives.
  • Not a stand-alone solution; best used with a tutor or class; some grammar/conjugation explanations may be lacking.
  • Occasional bugs that can prevent completing lessons.

I am on this app for three years. It took me from A1 to a solid B2 and some tests I pass at C1. The trick is to study every single day. It doesn’t take much time to complete the lesson. New AI speaking feature, while not perfect is still useful. Get a tutor to practice conversation once you are at A2-B1 and you will progress even quicker. My trip to France solidified my trust, as I was able to communicate rather well and be understood. I tried several apps, with some I stayed quite long. This is the best of them. Great investment.

Please do not waste your money with Gymglish. They’re a disgusting company. If you sign up and try to cancel they will refuse. If you remove your payment method they will threaten legal action and interest payments. They’re a disgusting company that treats customers like trash. Avoid them at all costs. Also, their AI sucks
