User Reviews

Users like the Globe ePaper for its convenient, print-like reading and offline download/share features, plus access to past issues. However, repeated issues with missing/corrupted content, stability and navigation problems, readability/layout flaws, intrusive ads, and disappointing subscription/support experiences dominate, signaling a need for major quality and UX improvements.
Pros
  • Very convenient to read the Globe anywhere and stay up to date across devices.
  • High-quality ePaper that resembles the print edition, with full-page view and readable article windows.
  • Ability to download editions for offline reading and share articles.
  • Access to past issues for rereading and archiving the newspaper
Cons
  • Content reliability: editions frequently missing or incomplete, with yesterday's edition appearing or sections missing.
  • Frequent performance and navigation problems: crashes/hangs, inability to load the current edition, broken close button, and problematic updates.
  • Unreadability and layout issues: print is too small or cannot be resized, poor typography, and pages not paginating correctly.
  • Intrusive ads degrade readability and distract from reading experience.
  • Subscription and support problems: duplicate apps with the same name, renewal reinstall requirements, and unresponsive support.

What a cluster. Purchased the epaper (apparently) on iPad yesterday. Had the full app on iPhone. iPhone said no subscription. Why in gods name are two apps with same name in store. Why does company not recognize a purchase on one as a purchase of paper in either version? Waste of 90 minutes search for solution with Apple Support.

I often find it difficult to access the Globe as I cannot make the previous day’s addition disappear. That was not a problem with the previous iteration of this app. Needs to be fixed.

A few days after I stopped being able to open the globe app on my old iPad I contacted support and was advised that they were phasing out the globe app and I would have to use the e paper. I’m not impressed… pages often won’t slide over, sometimes they are blank. It’s glitchy, there is a little page icon blocking part of the articles. Why did you have to fix it… It wasn’t broken, actually compared to the Globe app that I gave up on in disgust 15 ? Years ago it was excellent (it would miss a few things but not crashing was a plus).
