User Reviews

ShoeCycle is praised for its simple, stable design and quick mileage logging across multiple shoes with photos, plus responsive support. The main drawbacks are the need for manual entry without automatic Apple Health sync, occasional data bugs and misreported distances, and a lack of analytics or cloud backup. Overall, it’s a straightforward, reliable mileage tracker that could benefit from syncing, analytics, and stronger data protections.
Pros
  • Simple, clean interface that is easy to use and stays out of the way.
  • Fast and efficient mileage entry (big add distance button) for quick data logging.
  • Supports multiple shoes with photos; easy to switch and reorder between shoes.
  • Reliable performance with no crashes and stability across use.
  • Developer is responsive and provides timely updates/solutions when issues are raised.
Cons
  • Manual data entry is required for each workout; no automatic import from Apple Health or Apple Fitness.
  • Occasional data bugs with distances not updating or showing incorrect totals.
  • There is a risk of data loss (progress can be erased) due to bugs or edge cases.
  • Lack of analytics (no monthly/yearly mileage statistics) reduces insight over time.
  • No cloud backup or cross-device sync (no iCloud syncing) and no Apple Health data sync, which can hamper data continuity across devices.

Been using ShoeCycle for many years now with no problems at all. Nothing fancy it just plain works.

I love using this app to track my mileage as well as keeping track of when I should replace my shoes! It has everything I need, since I don’t bring my phone or watch with me on my runs, manually tracking is not a problem for me. If you run cross country or long distance track, you definitely should get this app!

This is a nice little app. I’m using Apple Fitness to track workouts (recorded in a few different apps) and needed a single place to track shoe mileage. This seems to fit the bill. The only downside is that this requires manually entering (and remembering to enter) every workout. It’d be great if it could pull workouts from Apple Fitness and create draft entries that I can then associate with a shoe. That way I can go tag a bunch at once and know I’m not missing any.
