User Reviews

Reading Raven is praised for its phonics-based, structured approach and engaging design that keeps kids motivated and progressing across levels. It supports recording readings and is widely viewed as a strong educational app. However, concerns repeatedly noted by users include lack of robust multi-user profiles for families with several children and limited content variety, with some reviews describing the lessons as similar or repetitive and at times boring.
Pros
  • Phonics-based, structured curriculum that effectively teaches reading.
  • Engaging and fun for kids, making reading practice enjoyable.

  • High-quality, well-designed educational app that many reviewers regard as among the best reading apps available.
Cons

  • Content variety is limited and some lessons feel similar or repetitive, leading to boredom for some users.

I’ve taught two of my children to read using this app and fully intend to use it for our third. We’ve tried others but they are nowhere near as good as this app. It’s targeted and specific enough to really be focused on learning to read. It’s also fun and engaging. My kids loved it. It was never a fight to get them to do it and so effective. Coupled with reading beginner learning books this app is incredible. I highly recommend.

I have taught all three of my kids to read using this app as a tool. My youngest just finished level 5 and will be moving on to levels 6-10 as a right of passage.
