User Reviews

Fans praise The Last Express for its immersive, story-driven atmosphere, rich characters and real-time, clockwork narrative on a mobile-friendly port. However, many reviews flag persistent bugs and crashes, especially progression-related issues like the concert scene, along with missing audio, outdated compatibility for newer iOS devices, and fiddly controls that hamper gameplay. The core appeal remains strong, but without consistent updates and polish the experience can be frustrating on modern devices.
Pros
  • Immersive, story-driven experience with rich dialogue and memorable characters.
  • Unique art direction and atmosphere blending 90’s PC adventure charm with appealing visuals.
  • Real-time storyline with time-based events on the train and the ability to rewind to fix mistakes.
  • Excellent mobile port with touch-friendly controls allowing classic point-and-click gameplay on iPad/iPhone.
  • Strong voice acting that enhances the storytelling.
Cons
  • Frequent bugs and crashes, including progression bugs like the concert never ending.
  • Audio problems: no sound or missing dialogue breaks the core experience.
  • Lack of ongoing updates leads to compatibility issues on newer iOS versions (64-bit, iOS 11/12/15) and crashes.
  • Clunky controls and confusing navigation, especially in combat scenes.
  • Specific progression bugs in time/location logic (time moves faster than events, misread location) that block completion.

I have no idea how to play this. Keep the $5.00. I’ve learned to never pay for a game again

Blended media that harkens back to 90’s PC point and click, but visually more interesting. Puzzles aren’t very complicated, but it’s like being part of a fun interactive story.

I’m unable to play the game because it keeps crashing. Shame, I was enjoying it until I reached a point in the adventure that I can not get further due to a bug that crashes the game.
