User Reviews

Fog of World is praised for turning travel into a visual, nostalgic map that helps you avoid getting lost, settle route debates, and retrace steps. Its simple, focused design and long‑term value appeal to frequent travelers. However, multiple reviews note reliability and cost issues: the app drains battery, tracks poorly in the background, and can crash or log only partial movement. Some users feel the $30–$40 price is steep given these reliability and feature gaps (local backup/export, waypoints, rotatable map). Overall, admired concept; reliability dents satisfaction.
Pros
  • Helps prevent getting lost and clarifies trips by showing where you’ve been and where you’re going.
  • Gives a nostalgic, visual record of travels that you can revisit and share.
  • Simple, intuitive interface that’s easy to use.
  • Precise tracking and clear map reveals, especially for drivers and frequent travelers.
  • Offers long-term value with achievements and a lasting record of life’s journeys.
Cons
  • Battery drain and high power usage, especially when running in the background.
  • Background tracking is unreliable and often stops unless the screen stays on.
  • Inconsistent or incomplete movement data; it can miss large portions of travel.
  • Crashes and performance issues impair usability.
  • High price with missing portability/features (no local backups export, need cloud backups, lack of waypoints/rotatable map).

Actually records the exact location you went to, always amazes me whenever I go back to check on my trips.

Title explains, 30$ for an app with no social bar where you can check ur progress versus friends / others is silly. No leaderboard is sad. There should be some sort of integration where you can compare levels / distance / achievements / passport to a friends. I’ve convinced 5 friends to buy this app and it’s a shame that there is no way to have a shared experience. Also altitude, speed, and other factors could be added. Every other app (even the free ones) have these features. I know this is a quality > quantity app but please please please it would change everything.
