Features & Capabilities

Mathopolis is a firefighter-themed math game for elementary students that teaches basic math facts across addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. It covers number sets 0–12 and lets players create profiles to save scores and progress.

Two modes of play — PLAY with levels and medals, and TRAINING for untimed practice. Seven game options: Addition, Subtraction, Addition & Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Multiplication & Division, and All Operators, all with multiple levels and three difficulty settings (Easy, Medium, Hard). Medals reward accuracy and speed, and parents/teachers can easily gauge progress.

This ad-free app contains no in-app purchases and is created by the developers of Math Fact Master. Homeschoolroom.com says, "It may win the prize for the best educational app I’ve ever purchased." Teacherswithapps.com says, "This is a fun and fabulous way for children to learn math facts. Mathopolis will provide many hours of play and replay as children have fun saving the town."

User Reviews

Mathopolis is praised as a fun, fast-paced way for kids to build math facts across all operations, with adjustable difficulty, multiple-user support, and medal-based goals that boost engagement. However, reviewers repeatedly note limited content and repetitive gameplay, leading to fatigue, and critique the app’s feedback for not showing correct answers. They also call for more variety in problems and story elements. Overall, strong educational value with room for expansion to keep long-term interest.
Pros
  • Helps students master math facts across all four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Fun, engaging, and motivating for kids with a fast-paced, game-like format.
  • Supports multiple users on one device, making it good for families or classrooms.
  • Customizable difficulty and targets (which operations to practice, number sets like 2s, 5s, 8s, etc.).
  • Medals and levels provide clear goals and a sense of progress.
Cons
  • Content is sometimes repetitive with few questions or levels, leading to fatigue.
  • Limited feedback when answers are wrong (no explanation or correct answer shown).
  • Lack of variety in the game's story/theme; players want more diverse challenges, bosses, and scenarios."],

I first played this game when I was eight. I need help with my multiplication, and a decade later I forgot my times tables (oop-) and redownloaded this. I love you and it’s really good. One suggestion I have is to maybe be able to own stores or something? And incorperate math into everything? It’s not a fire fighter game it’s called Mathopolis which is the name of the whole town. So you should increase your business and do more. That is all, THANK YOU!

The game is very simple and easy to use, but my only complaint is that there are only so many questions and medals/levels. I would love it if the app developer could add some more questions or levels. It would also be great if they could add some other kinds of math, like word problems. Other than that is great!
