User Reviews

Users praise FreeCell as one of the best FreeCell apps and enjoy its quick, casual play that works well for short sessions and long-time fans. However, the dominant complaint is the heavy, intrusive advertising: in-game pop-ups that block play and long interstitials between rounds, often with no easy way to close. This disrupts focus and flow, turning would-be fun into frustration for many longtime players. While the core game remains strong, reducing or reworking ads would address the most frequent criticism and likely retain or win back users.
Pros
  • Among the best FreeCell implementations available.
  • Easy to play and great for short sessions/quick breaks.
  • Long-running, reliable game that players have enjoyed for years.
Cons
  • Intrusive in-game ads that interrupt gameplay, covering cards and popping up with no easy close.
  • Inter-game ads are long and disruptive, delaying the next round and sometimes difficult to dismiss.
  • Overall ad load has increased over time, making the experience feel more like an ad platform than a game.

Why would anyone continue to use an app that takes five minutes in between games to wait on ads to quit playing, I guess they’re idiots, just like the developers!

For fun, I looked at my total score before writing this review and it’s over 5.3 million and I’ve just passed 13,000 games played. That just goes to show how much I enjoy this app. It has been a great tool to help keep my brain sharp and to distract me when I need to process things. I even use it right after I wake up to get my mind working to solve complex problems. I’ve had this app for so long, the little of money I paid to avoid adds has been very beneficial.
