User Reviews

Readers praise The Week - US Edition for convenient digital access, concise multi-source summaries, broad international coverage, and a trustworthy, global perspective. However, many cite a poor app experience (PDF-like, zoomed layout, no font size control), unreliable offline access, delivery/read issues (missing or delayed issues), text-blocking thumbnails, and difficult subscription management with weak customer support. Overall, the app is valued for staying informed, but needs serious UX improvements and reliability fixes.
Pros
  • On-the-go access to the latest issue via a digital edition.
  • Concise, well-curated summaries with broad international coverage.
  • Multi-source editorial approach offering multiple viewpoints.
  • Comprehensive weekly digest with useful sections and global scope.
  • Valued as a credible resource that helps readers stay informed.
Cons
  • Very unfriendly app UI with a PDF-like, zoomed-in layout and no font-size adjustment.
  • Offline reading is not supported or is unreliable; downloaded issues disappear or require an internet connection.
  • Delivery/read reliability issues: missing, delayed, or not downloadable latest issues.
  • Presentation issues like article text being blocked by thumbnails, hampering readability.
  • Subscription management and customer support problems, including third-party purchases.

Used to love seeing the print version and the text only version, but now you have to jump through a couple more hoops to get to it. Why? This issue plus the fact that the magazine has shady renewal practices - charging $299 which supposedly includes free gift subscription to a friend when in fact, we are actually being charged for it. I fell for it the first time and paid that, only to realize I could get it for $99. I just got my “last chance” bill and will not be renewing. Have posted about this on all my socials and will do this final non-renewal in the coming days. Look for it under #theweekmagazineshadyrenewal

I’m really struggling to get to the full text of the print version. It now defaults to audio and there is a lot of friction finding my way to print.

The newest released formate is not user friendly causing additional clicks. I believe they attempted to fix a problem that didn’t exist. I suggest they return to the old formate. The good news is the articles are still great.
