User Reviews

TrackAddict Pro is praised for strong telemetry, easy data review, and video overlays that map laps across many venues. It also offers native Wi‑Fi OBDII support and unified review of runs. However, several reviews cite reliability issues (crashes or freezes), connectivity problems with external devices (GoPro, XGPS160, OBD adapters), and video/rendering bugs (orientation glitches, export failures). Support/documentation is seen as lacking, and hardware compatibility information is unclear. Overall, a powerful track-day tool that would benefit from improved stability and hardware integration.
Pros
  • Rich telemetry and data analysis with track segmentation and lap timing.
  • Video overlays and GPS-based track mapping for review.
  • Native Wi‑Fi OBDII support and broad hardware compatibility.
  • Easy to use and widely supported across many tracks; suited for track days.
  • Timing accuracy close to transponder in some tracks and useful performance insights.
Cons
  • Reliability issues: app crashes or freezes after short use.
  • Connectivity problems with external devices (GoPro, XGPS160, OBD adapters) and pairing difficulties.
  • Video rendering/export problems and orientation bugs (rotation issues, export failures).
  • Support and documentation is lacking; outdated web resources and contact options are scarce.
  • Hardware compatibility/disclosures are unclear (e.g., MPVI2+ requirements) and occasional certificate issues.

Shows video in preview, but most of the time doesn’t record it. When it does, not the entire run. V5.0.5 IOS 16.7.16 Setup menus changed and is less intuitive. Makes app useless. I have 4.8.2 on an IOS 12.5.8 iPhone and the app Works flawless. Guess I’ll have to replace its battery instead of upgrading. Update: I did some research and sifted through the developers forum for answers. Atleast one other user has had this issue with no resolution. The no video issue seems to come from bypassing the camera setup, which you are allowed to do. But bypassing it kills video recording, which it’s not supposed to do. The recorded video time doesn’t seem to have a solution. It data records the entire 48second run, but only video records 10seconds or so. The developer needs to find out what went wrong between 4.8.2 and 5.05.

Can we just revert back to the 4 year old version? 5.0.4 still has lots of issues that were not present in 4.8.2 and I didn’t really see any reason to change it for my usage. My G data is shifted and wrongly scaled, the screen keeps turning off between autocross runs, connection to my XGPS160 is inconsistent, etc.
