User Reviews

Overall, users praise Bible One Year as a simple, effective tracker that helps keep them on pace with a year-long reading plan. Its strengths are a clean, minimal checklist and easy progress tracking. Repeated concerns center on missing content (notably 2 Chronicles), limitations around date customization, intrusive ads, and occasional UI bugs when marking or scrolling. Despite these issues, many reviewers report long-term use and value as motivation, with requests for reminders and improved navigation.
Pros
  • Simple, easy-to-use daily reading checklist
  • Helps you stay on track and accountable with a year-long plan
  • Organized and minimal interface focused on progress
  • Proven over years as a reliable habit-building tool
Cons
  • Missing chapters in 2 Chronicles (notably 19–21) reported by multiple users
  • Cannot change or customize the start date (e.g., start today or from a different month)
  • Intrusive ads interrupt use and marking progress
  • Occasional UI issues when marking or scrolling (marks can revert or not apply)

I’ve had this app for years but I just noticed after not using this for seven years that I cannot check off the chapters on the last line on each page. It’s like a scaling issue or something. I’m using an iPhone 12. I also see there are not check boxes for 2 Chron 20 and 21 in the month of April. I am now using an iPhone 14

I use this for keeping track with my bible app and have for several years. It works great! The only thing I would like to see changed how Psalms 119 is split up. It’s the longest book with 176 verses and it would be entirely understandable to only read that book for the day. I could even understand doubling up on some other days where the books only have 2-6 verses.
