User Reviews

Happy Fish + is visually appealing and fun with a loyal, long-running player base. However, recurring concerns include monetization gating, persistent bugs/crashes, slow progression, missing social features, and occasional support/data issues that hamper a smooth experience.
Pros
  • Beautiful art and cute visuals.
  • Fun, relaxing, and engaging gameplay that many players enjoy.
  • Long-time player base and lasting appeal across years of play.
Cons
  • Monetization gatekeeping and high costs (FishBucks) making progression feel pay-to-win.
  • Frequent bugs, glitches, and crashes, especially after updates or during quests.
  • Slow XP progression and periodic progress resets that frustrate advancement.
  • Missing social/features (breeding/hatching, world chat, clans/guilds) and related feature requests.
  • Poor or delayed customer support and occasional data/startup issues (launch crashes, lost progress).

I used to really enjoy this game, but coming back to it recently has been pretty disappointing. It’s clear that progression is now heavily tied to spending real money, which takes away from the fun. Almost every activity or item that looks interesting ends up being locked behind a paywall, and it feels like you’re constantly being nudged to spend just to keep up. The experience (XP) system is also frustrating — it takes over a month of daily logins just to level up once, which feels unbalanced and discouraging. It’s hard to enjoy the game when meaningful progress feels gated unless you’re paying. I understand developers need to monetize, but this current model feels more like a cash grab than a fair system for players who want to enjoy the game without constantly spending. I really hope the balance is reconsidered in future updates.
