Magic Hour helps photographers and cinematographers plan perfect light. It calculates golden hour times for your current day and location (roughly when the sun is 6 degrees below to 6 degrees above the horizon) and notifies you as the moment approaches. When available, it can also display the local weather forecast to refine your shoot plans. The app keeps all data on-device, preserving privacy.

Beyond magic hour, the Moon Watch feature shows upcoming moonrise and the next full moon for your chosen locations. You can set reminders, receive notifications, and, with an in-app purchase, explore future locations, view more magic hours, and create calendar events. All stored data—locations, notifications, and events—remains on your device and is not remotely transmitted.

I’m sure it’s interesting to some, but my weather app tells me sunrise and sunset times. I don’t need all the extra. Currently, having difficulty canceling the app. Not in subscriptions on my phone, so extra hoops to jump.

Simple, clean, and informative. Just beautiful. I use it frequently especially when journaling in the early morning. I’m not a photographer but still love this elegant app.
