User Reviews

Users praise personalization and a broad translation library, along with useful features like marking chapters read/unread. However, recurring complaints center on pervasive ads and monetization, restrictive paywalls for translations, and data loss after updates (notes, highlights, bookmarks). Additional frequent issues include crashes, navigation/UI problems, and slow or unresponsive support. Overall, The One Bible App is feature-rich and trusted by long-time users, but current experiences are marred by stability problems, aggressive advertising, and monetization practices that erode trust.
Pros
  • Personalization and parallel reading features customize the reading experience.
  • Wide variety of Bible translations available.
  • Ability to mark chapters as read/unread helps track reading progress.
  • App has been trusted by long-time users and supports continued use.
  • Occasional developer responsiveness and bug fixes when issues are reported.
Cons
  • Ads are pervasive and intrusive, with clickbait content and monetization concerns.
  • Premium features are gated or overpriced, limiting access to translations and driving value concerns.
  • Notes, highlights, and bookmarks can be lost or reset after updates.
  • Stability and navigation issues persist, including crashes, unknown book errors, and problematic UI changes.
  • Support is often slow or unresponsive, making it hard to get help.
Recent reviews
I recently upgraded to a new phone and the app completely wiped out my history. The "restore purchase" button is totally broken. Not only am I being forced to look at intrusive ads again, but I also completely lost access to the 5 Bible versions I previously paid for. I have sent multiple emails to their support team to get this fixed, but I have received absolutely none zero response. This should not be when it comes to the word of God. They take your money, ignore your emails, and leave you with a broken app. Save your money and download a reliable alternative!!!

I am a premium subscriber why don’t I see premium benefits I can only read 1 bible type ? This one shouldn’t be. I like reading from AMP because it’s more relatable to my life and NIV changes the wording I hate to speak this way about a decent bible plan but why make it hard It’s the word of God
