It’s a semi-fun and addictive game, and challenging at times, making you want to keep playing and beat the levels.
But there’s something that, for me, became too frustrating to keep playing. And also became the reason for this review.
When your marble falls off the edge and the game resets, you’re placed pretty close to where you were. The problem is this is clearly done with an algorithm which doesn’t take into consideration the layout of the game. Too often my marble was placed (spinning) at the edge and immediately falls off, sometimes too fast for me to see where it was placed before it fell again. It turns into a double-fall, and takes more time.
You can only pass the levels if you finish by making “par” which is a set amount of time. It may allow for one, maybe two mess ups if you’re absolutely perfect the rest of the time. So when the game interferes it becomes unfair. It might as well place you (the marble) in mid-air with a windmill about to smack you off-grid; that’s how much chance you get when you’re being reset to play—quite often.
And I’m not sure if it’s just me, but the control of the marble seems a little wonky using a mobile phone.
I didn’t want to give it a 2 — even though I’m inclined to take away 3 stars just for the interference issue. At times when you can still beat the level but then your placement is jacked up and your time is eaten away beyond your control, it gets really frustrating. Enough for me to quit playing. But I’ll be cool about it so instead it’s one star for the replacement issue, and one for the controls not responding right or doing what you’re telling it to all the time.
3 stars.

The Game Center leaderboards say that I’m not ranked and no longer work because the gay little redux update made it so that the game can’t properly communicate w/ Game Center I actually hate this so much
