User Reviews

Reviews praise strong local sports content, the knowledgeable hosts, and a cohesive, redesigned all-in-one app. However, users frequently report instability (crashes/freezes), heavy advertising that interrupts streams, and stream delays or disconnects. Some also note compatibility issues after updates and mixed content quality (NFL-heavy, outdated stories). Overall, content quality is solid, but performance and ad experience need improvement.
Pros
  • Strong local sports coverage with knowledgeable hosts (Adam Gold and Joe Ovies).
  • All-in-one hub for local sports—articles, videos, and radio/podcasts.
  • Up-to-date sports news and a go-to source for local teams.
  • Positive redesign with an easy-to-navigate interface.
  • Good ACC coverage and popular segments (Panic Room) enhancing sports talk.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and freezes; the app often won't stay open.
  • Intrusive ads and forced commercials interrupting content.
  • Streams disconnect and lag behind the live radio; reloads are often required.
  • Update/compatibility issues on older devices; some builds break the app.
  • Content sometimes NFL-heavy and outdated in portions; less NC-local focus.

Very disappointed in this app which doesn’t reflect well for WRAL as a whole. So must for following sports in North Carolina. App throws more commercials thus less real content of “reporting” on sports! Dropped listening in WRAL radio (except on Sundays) as well.

So frustrating trying to listen to live radio. If the app disconnects, you have to listen to ads when you reconnect, every time. You end up missing content. Better to listen to the Canes games on the Canes App.

Will close before 30 seconds of opening. Has trouble staying open, very glitchy
