Features & Capabilities

Particlescape is an interactive particle and gravity simulator designed to be as beautiful as possible, creating an organic link between fingertips and screen. Touch to generate particles, double-tap-hold to use gravity, and shake the device to change options. It supports up to 10 simultaneous touches on iPad and 5 on iPhone, opening limitless visual possibilities.

Specced for performance, it can generate up to 8,000 particles per second per touch. Particles in dense regions render at higher resolution to reveal fine detail, and the tool is extensively optimized to handle up to half a million particles on screen. On devices with pressure or extra input, harder touches can increase particle count or gravity.

User Reviews

Particlescape is praised for its stunning visuals and relaxing, engaging particle manipulation, with smooth performance and intuitive use. However, users frequently point to UX hurdles in settings, limited color customization, occasional stability issues, and common feature requests (negative gravity, world overlays, music). Lack of a true save feature is also noted. Overall, a visually impressive, immersive app that could improve with better UX, more customization, and reliability.
Pros
  • Visually stunning, gorgeous graphics and mesmerizing visuals.
  • Fun, calming, and engaging; great for relaxation or stress relief.
  • Easy to use and intuitive controls; quick to pick up and experiment with.
  • Deep interactivity with real-time gravity, color tweaks, and multi-touch manipulation.
  • Stable performance with smooth graphics and no major lag reported.
Cons
  • Settings/navigation is unclear or hard to access; trouble changing hue/gravity.
  • Color customization is limited or behind a paywall; hue controls are not easily accessible.
  • Occasional stability/controls issues; some reports of unresponsive controls or crashes.
  • Requests for more features (negative gravity, background/overlay options, more shapes, music).
  • Lack of a save/persistence feature (rely on screenshots).

I loved all the cool particle apps that were on the App Store when the iPad was new. Sadly, very few of them are still around. I didn’t have much hope that there would be any groovy apps like that for the Vision Pro. But here we are with this beautiful, somewhat overwhelming experience. This app is so very much fun, especially using the features unlocked with a purchase. This is going on the top of my list for apps to share when friends try out my Vision Pro.

I write reviews extremely rarely. I understand that now it is important for the developer. So, here are my few words: IT IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! For the developer:, it would be nice if you could add some meditation music.
